Meet at Springboro History Museum | 110 S. Main St.
Founded by Quakers, Springboro and Wilmington share a similar early history. This visit to the Clinton County History Center offers insight into how the history of the two towns are both similar and different. Known as the Rombach Place Museum, the mid-1800s two-story residence at 149 E. Locust St. features a collection of Eli Harvey paintings and sculptures, Carl Moon photographs, vintage children's toys, pre-historic Native American objects, information about General Denver's military career and more. Lunch is at the Denver Hotel which serves American fare. RSVP here by July 5 with your name, number in your party, and if you will ride the bus and join us for lunch. Or RSVP by calling 937-748-0916 and leaving a voicemail.
The Springboro area is recognized as a Historic Underground Railroad Site, with 27 documented safe houses, 18 in the city and nine in the township. Our 60-minute guided walking tours cover a six-block radius highlighting the many sites still standing in our historic downtown. The second of two free members-only tours is offered in September. Register by clicking on the date:
