Springboro Area Historical Society is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to one local high school senior interested in studying history, museum studies, education or a related field.
The new scholarship is named in honor of Don Ross, a long-time educator and SAHS board member whose countless hours researching the history of Springboro and Clearcreek Township has informed and supported the efforts of our historical society for 35 years. Ross is a former Springboro High School English teacher, coach, and newspaper advisor who has served the historical society in many roles, from board president and co-founder to author of local history books and booklets.

A NOTE ABOUT THE PHOTO --
This photo of school children, taken after Springboro was no longer a predominantly Quaker town, demonstrates that schools were integrated at a time when this was not universal and suggests that the welcoming nature of Quakers may have enabled black families to feel comfortable settling here.
To apply for the Don Ross Scholarship, print and complete the form below, then return it to the Springboro Area Historical Society.
